Biography Eric Derix
Born in the village Horst in the province of Limburg in Holland.
Started playing guitar at a very young age but the moment he heard live drums for the first time his musical career was determined.
He started taking drum classes from a local teacher and played in several bands where he met Fred and Ron and played with them in the bands
Delta and Paolo Zoppo and later the
Fred Hendrix solo project.
During Paolo Zoppo he started taking drum classes from the famous Dutch drummer Egbert van Gruithuizen and after that John Engels
(among others known from Chet Baker and Monty Alexander). Later he had also drum classes from the legendary Joe Morello (among others known from Dave Brubeck).
Played in several small Jazz bands and big bands and participated in Pop and Jazz projects and recordings.
Delta: Symphonic Rock band. Played self written music and additional covers.
Paolo Zoppo: Mixture of Pop and Jazz Rock. Played self written music and additional covers.
Fred Hendrix (solo): Pop Music. Self written material.
Floor band: Jazz-Fusion.
Her Majesty: Rock cover band.
