Fred Hendrix
Born in the village Horst in the province of Limburg in Holland.
His father was an enthusiast music lover and bought an organ. But he didn’t have the time to play it himself so he
send his sons Fred and Ron, who were at that time twelve and ten years old, to the local music school.
Ron was much better in playing the organ and after a few years Fred changed from organ to guitar.
They were sixteen when they joined their first band called Wolfe and Fred wrote his first songs.
He was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in this band. Later the name of the band was changed into Delta.
At the age of eighteen he started taking singing lessons and recorded his first demos with Delta.
In 1985 they joined a band called Poalo Zoppo where Fred was the lead singer and additional keyboard player.
In 1986 Paolo Zoppo reached the finales of the “Nu of nooit” talent scouting and recorded with the other finalists an E.P.
Fred wrote a song called “I am what I am” for this.
In 1987 he started a Solo career and was “Popkrantgroep” (a talent scouting) at the National Radio Station called the VARA.
He recorded three songs in the VARA studio that were broadcasted one entire day every hour.
At the age of twenty-two he studied Jazz vocal at the Conservatory in Den Haag for about a year and a half.
But he already had vocal chord problems when he started his study and they became only worse so he decided to quit singing.
In 1989 he joined a band called Nine Lives where he was Bass guitarist and did only backing vocals. They were “Popslagband”
(a talent scouting) of 1999 at the National Radio Station called NCRV and played with two National celebrities.
In 1990 Nine Lives recorded a Single called “Sarah” written by Fred.
1992 was the start for his first big success with the band Terra Nova. Fred was singer, songwriter, producer and additional
guitarist in this band. Terra Nova started of with a different lead singer who left prior to the recordings of the first album,
in 1994, and there was no alternative but for Fred to step forward. The first to release their debut album “Livin’ it up” was
JVC, Japan, in 1996 and it was a big success right from the beginning. September 22nd, 1997 was the release of their second
successful album called “Break away” and March 10th, 1999 was the release of their last album “Make my day”.
At the end of 2000, what was initially meant as a solo-album, he started the recordings for the album “Say yeah”.
The first day light for the album “Say yeah” was November 21st, 2001 and the band was called Aquila.
Wolfe/Delta: Symphonic Rock band. Played self written music and additional covers.
